During the second quarter of my grade 8 math class, I learned various concepts and skills that helped me improve my understanding of the subject. The topics covered during this quarter included quadratic functions, polynomials, and geometric transformations.
One of the most challenging concepts I learned was quadratic functions. The process of understanding how to graph quadratic functions, finding the vertex and the axis of symmetry, was quite difficult for me. However, with the help of my teacher’s examples and by doing practice problems, I was able to grasp the concept. I also found it difficult to solve word problems involving quadratic equations, but I learned how to apply the concepts in solving real-life problems which is a great help for me.
I also enjoyed learning about polynomials and their different operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. I found it interesting how polynomials can be used to model real-life situations.
Lastly, I learned about geometric transformations, specifically translations, rotations, reflections, and dilations. It was fascinating to see how these concepts can be applied to geometric figures, and how they can be used to understand the properties of shapes and figures.
Overall, I found the second quarter of my grade 8 math class to be challenging but also very rewarding. It was a great opportunity for me to learn new concepts and improve my problem-solving skills. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow in my math class in the future
