Learning task 2: Find the area of each figure.

AREA

  1. 5 cm²
  2. 9 m²
  3. 36 cm²
  4. 81 cm²
  5. 150 cm²

1. To solve the area of triangle we need to apply the the formula of area of the triangle.

Triangle area= one-half (base * height)

 A = ½bh

 A = ½ (5 centimeter) ( 2 centimeter)

 A = ½ ( 10 cm²)

 A = 5 cm²

2. To solve the area of triangle we need to apply the the formula of finding the area of the triangle.

The area of the triangle =  one-half (base * height)

  A = [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex] (b) (h)

  A = ½ ( 6 meter ) ( 3 meter )

  A= ½ ( 18 square meter )

  A= 9 m²

3.  To solve the area of triangle we need to apply the the formula of area of the triangle.
Area of the parallelogram= (base x height)

  A = (b) (h)

  A = ( 9 centimeter ) ( 4 centimeter)

 A =  36 cm²

4. To solve the area of trapezoid we need to apply the the formula of finding the area of the trapezoid.

The area of the trapezoid=  one half (a + b) h

    A = [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]  (a + b) h

    A =  ½ ( 6 centimeter +  12 centimeter ) ( 9 centimeter )

    A = ½ ( 18 centimeter ) ( 9 centimeter)

    A = ½ ( 162 square centimeter )

    A = 81 cm²

5.   To solve the area of trapezoid we need to apply the the formula of finding the area of the trapezoid.

The area of the trapezoid=  one-half (a + b) h

   A =  [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]  (a+b) (h)

   A =  ½ ( 14 centimeter + 16 centimeter ) ( 10 centimeter )

   A = ½  ( 30 centimeter ) ( 10 centimeter )

   A = ½ ( 300 square centimeter )

AREA

  The area of the surface or a flat form  of an object can be described in geometry as the space filled by it. The number of units square that cover the surface is known as the area of a closed shape .Area is measured in square millimeters, square feet, square inches, etc.

  • The word “area” that comes from the Latin word “area,” which means “a unoccupied patch of level ground.”
  • The irregular derivation of area is “a certain amount of space enclosed within a set of boundaries” that is caused by the origin.
