Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare with a subject about love. It is about the two ill-fated people have fallen in love with each other and ends up in tragedy. The setting of the play is in Verona and Mantua, Italy and was written in the 1950’s. The play has an emphasis on religion because the story setting itself is a religious country. One of the characters, namely, Friar Laurence which is also a religious symbol as he is a friar, plays an important role in the story. His profession as a friar, makes him immune to the family quarrel of Romeo and Juliet, the main characters in the story.
